MODERN SYNTH PACK
This Pack contains some of my favorite synth presets I’ve ever created. From a legit OC-2 recreation featuring a sub solo switch, to the chillwave, 80s-evoking nostalgia of Vapor Bass, to the EDM-inspired dual oscillator Reese Bass classic, all the way to a modern bit-crushed synth monster complete with beat chop and dub step wobble, the Modern Synth Pack gives you iconic modern synth sounds that are easy to use on stage, on your session and in a wide variety of genres and styles!
Oh See Too
Finally. An OC-2 preset that ACTUALLY sounds like an OC-2. When Line 6 put the Boss “Boctaver” into a firmware update, we rejoiced . . . until we heard it. The block lacks a ton of bottom and needs a tweak to the midrange character to get it close to the original. I put my Japanese OC-2 on a scope and found the EQ curve that really made it sound unique and singular. Then I painstakingly recreated that EQ curve in the Stomp only when the pedal is engaged. Did I give you a sub solo switch so you can do the solo octave down sound without bending over and twisting knobs? I SURE DID. I’m super proud of this preset. Now your OC-2 can do the same thing that mine does… decorate a pedal shelf.
Vapor Bass
Vaporwave or Synthwave music arose as a nostalgia genre on Youtube and quickly was adopted by all the pop stars of the 2000teens. Driven by a relentless 16th note bass pulse, this music pays homage to 80s and 90s pop culture. Footswitches for octave down, low gain fuzz, and wet effects bring this preset into nostalgia-soaked liminal space. You’re driving a Testarossa out of a dystopian city into a purple pink sunset. It starts to rain making the neon signs around you glow in the misty dusk. You turn up the radio dial and tune out your intrusive thoughts for a fleeting moment. You feel, invincible. That’s Vapor Bass. *Pro tip: try this preset with a pick and a bit of palm muting.
Reese Bass
A classic EDM synth bass staple, Reese Bass is made with 3 wave shape oscillators; one sub wave perfectly in tune anchoring the sound combined with 2 more distorted triangle waves an octave up and slightly detuned from one another providing a crazy wide and gnarly synth bass sound. Perfect for pop music or the last bridge of the modern worship tune you’re playing on Sunday, Reese Bass sounds absolutely MASSIVE on stage or on a record. Footswitches for octave down, fuzz, filter, and delay give you maximum tonal options and let you sculpt your sound for tons of synth bass applications. *Pro tip: Big sustaining notes is the name of the game with Reese Bass.
8 Bit Crush
Bit crushers produce some of the NASTIEST modern synth bass sounds ever. But they are notoriously hard to use and balance in a musical context. Have no fear for I have tamed the beast! You get 2 awesome sounding sample rates complete with octave down, filter and wet effects. 8 Bit Crush is equally at home playing monster bombs or short, percussive punchy bass lines. You might think this sound is reserved for electronic music, but fire it up with your rock band and see what mayhem you come up with as a result!
