INSPIRATION PACK:

The Inspiration Pack was born out of my love for audio production and larger-than-life cinematic film score sounds. When working on a record, I often “hear” production in my head that wouldn’t typically come from the bass chair. Giving into those leanings, I love to create additional production layers using the bass as the controller for new sonic explorations. It has opened up all kinds of new avenues and opportunities for me. That’s what this pack is all about! I hope it inspires you to play totally differently and make brand new sounds that will lead you down uncharted paths.

RoboBass

Thank you for your cooperation. This sound is all about teamwork between you and the delay, and once you lock in, you’ll have a partner for life. The delay is set to give you ONE identical repeat. So if you play 8th notes, the delay gives you offbeat 16ths - perfect for when you’re playing to a click and want sequencer precision. Sync global BPM to your desired tempo, or use a BPM to millisecond conversion app (I use Audiofile Calc) to find the ms setting (the preset defaults to 120 BPM / 125ms). Need more firepower? Beef it up with the octave and fuzz footswitches. I’d buy that for a dollar! (Hot tip: use a pick with short notes and tight palm muting to get the most out of this sound)

Trunk Rattle

Rolling down the street, audible before visible. This preset emulates the impossibly deep synth bass sounds of hip-hop records and car stereo culture. Based on a super clean sine wave synth sound, be careful in big PAs as this preset will make FOH subs WORK. Kick on the ‘Texture’ switch for more drive and check out the ‘Wobble’ modulation switch! (Hot tip: the pitch is set to one octave below what you play, so treat this preset as if you are playing an octave pedal)

Nightmare

One, two, Freddy’s coming for you . . . Load up this preset and you’ll scratch your head at first . . . looks normal enough - octave, drive, pretty standard Allison fare. But check out that pink ring called ‘Freddy’ that’s connected to a self-oscillating delay on a momentary switch. Step on that and hold while playing and you’re instantly transported to a deranged nightmare where Freddy is chasing you through a twisted version of your childhood home. Perfect for big transitions in and out of dramatic song sections. Whatever you do, don’t fall asleep.

Android Dreams

Do androids dream of electric sheep? This preset features a volume-ramped synth into a super gnarly fuzz feeding 2 different styles of reverb. Choose between a Hans Zimmer ‘Inception’ style sound that makes dramatic film score sonic bombs, or flip to the ‘Blade Runner’ style verb that completely obscures your dry signal enabling you to make lush pads evoking dystopian sci-fi landscapes. Within cells interlinked, dreadfully distinct.
