CLASSIC AMP PACK

Amp sims are HARD. So many options. So many parameters. Default settings come up too gainy, too boomy, and after endless tweaking, does your patch even sound good?! I see you, I hear you, and I have gone through the agony for you! I’ve created the most useful and awesome sounding presets of 4 of the most iconic bass amps of all time. Starting with B15 Eras that lets you switch between 60s and 70s models of that incredible recording amp. SVT A/B where you can choose between a dark and smooth or bright and gainy SVT to rattle stages and cages. Or how about the punchy solid state Gen X GK proving that tube amps shouldn’t get to have all the fun! And don’t forget about Dirty Orange, a juicy homage to midrange and saturation of the 90s and early 2000s. Whichever amp you favor, now they’re all perfectly dialed and ready for your session or gig.

B15 Eras

60s and 70s fliptop B15s are things of studio legend and lore. Perfect for recording, this preset gives you the choice of 2 separate and iconic B15 models, 60s and 70s. In general, 60s B15s featured slightly smaller cabinets and wattage versus the 70s models that were beefed up in both those areas. There isn’t a BEST era in my opinion - only what is right for your session. The preset defaults to the 70s model that is slightly warmer with a bit more headroom, but be sure to check out the 60s model as well which is slightly brighter and grittier! I’ve even gone through all of the mics and chosen the absolute best one to bring out the appropriate sonic character of each cabinet!

SVT A/B

Shake the stage, studio monitors, or your IEMs! This preset is like having 2 independent SVTs on stage with a custom switching system that runs both amps into a mic’d up 810. Choose between a normal SVT channel with massive bottom end or a bright channel model with extended clarity and drive. Perfect for warming up a lively active bass or adding classic texture and grit to ANY bass - all with the power and familiar push of the venerable SVT. With footswitches assigned to A/B amps, parallel blended drive, and a hint of hall reverb, this is a preset you’ll never want to turn off.

Gen X GK

If you grew up playing bass in the 80s or 90s, the GK 800rb was absolutely EVERYWHERE! Everyone from Duff McKagen to Flea was rocking a GK, and for good reason. The fast and bright solid state attack combined with slightly scooped mids and big bottom made its tube predecessors seem a bit like dinosaurs. This preset makes the most of the GK era by leaning into the amps strengths to create a super unique voice in your HX arsenal. And speaking of Duff and Flea, of COURSE I had to include chorus (a la Mr. McKagen) and a super funky Blood Sugar Sex Magic inspired filter. Now kick on this preset and prepare to shred the gnar!

Dirty Orange

Remember in the early 2000s when Orange bass amps DOMINATED rock and roll? Mid-forward and always a little dirty, there is no sub-genre of rock that the Orange can’t handle. This preset is all about midrange character and DRIVE, evidenced by the 3 footswitch saturation options that increasingly step up the drama. Use subtly, one at a time or TURN ON ALL THE DISTORTION to get the most juice from the squeeze.
