BASS ESSENTIALS PACK

This is my preset pack devoted to problem-solving. Do you just need a super simple and amazing-sounding preset without the bells and whistles of crazy effects? Check out the Foundation preset! Have you struggled to dial in the right kind of EQ and compression for a great slap sound? Oh you’re going to LOVE the SLAP preset! Are you tired of tuning your bass down to flat keys to learn or perform certain tunes at your gig? You won’t believe how easily Drop Tune will solve this for you! And did you know the HX Stomp can be set up as an incredible LOOPER? I didn’t either and you can bet I figured this out for us! You’ve got 99 problems but a bass ain’t one. Hit me.

Foundation

This is the preset for people who hate presets and effects. I’m serious! Fire this up on your gig if you don’t need or want any crazy fuzz or synth sounds - just solid BASS with a couple of options. Maybe you just want a touch of juicy 1176 style compression and a Noble DI. DONE. You might also want a boost on a footswitch when you need to take that occasional solo, a subtle drive on the next footswitch for added texture, and NOTHING on the third footswitch so you can keep FS3 as a tuner! I see you. And I made this preset for you.

SLAP!

Sure getting a great slap sound is all about your technique, bass setup and string choice . . . but this preset certainly won’t hurt ;) It features a nice sticky yet dynamic compressor setting running into a super subtle drive and hall reverb (all on footswitches) and is rounded out with a custom EQ and Noble tube DI emulation. Thumbs up!

Drop Tune

How often are you trying to learn a new tune for the gig and it’s in a different key than what you’ll be playing it in? This happens to me all the time. If a tune is in Eflat for instance, I have to tune my entire bass down half a step just to learn it! This drives me absolutely crazy. Enter Drop Tune and WORRY NO MORE, MY FRIENDS! This preset literally transposes your entire bass to any key center you want! Default is Eflat standard, but just dig into the pitch block and choose any interval for any standard tuning. I threw my favorite overdrive and even a simplified SVT rig on this preset as well should you want to get nasty.

Looper

Let’s face it, the looper function in the HX Stomp is really convoluted and hard to set up and use. In fact, DID YOU EVEN KNOW IT HAD A LOOPER?! Well it does, and since I properly set up and assigned footswitches, this preset is now an incredible practice and live tool. Use it in the shed to work on your time and bass line ideas, or use it on stage to layer parts and become BASS ED SHEERAN! For real though, loopers can be such a creative and useful part of your music journey, and now you have one set up and ready at a moment’s notice to capture all of your best ideas.
